FEMHO believes in giving ethnic minority communities the ability to benefit from the level of care that the UK provides to all of its citizens. Unfortunately, inequality and a lack of access and diversity means that communities are missing out on the care they have the right to access. What FEMHO aims to do is close the gap between ethnic minority health and social care organisations and ethnic minority communities to deliver care in an improved way.
As a self-governed union, FEMHO encourages organisations to collaborate and work collectively to achieve better outcomes through the implementation of improved policies and opinion formers as well regulators and commissioners both locally and nationally. Therefore, the aim is to deliver our vision of reducing inequalities and making our world more diverse and accepting.
become a volunteerWe consist of Doctors and Nurses that represent a wide range of associations with all members taking an active role in seeking out change and representation on a wider scale. Our commitment to equality underpins the federation and we want to collectively help each organisation to fulfil its potential.
We place our core values at the heart of our federation and this is to ensure that we deliver high standards as well as integrity when it comes to the leadership and management of FEMHO. Our federation has grown in stature and influence, while we collaborate with the NHS and necessary bodies to address the issues that are faced by Doctors and Nurses as well as health and social care bodies when it comes to delivering a level of care that is free of inequality and discrimination.
We have also successfully completed a range of campaigns, proving that we believe in all that we are trying to achieve.
